The Al Wadi region of Yemen is vast, and extremely difficult to source coffee from. But, the exceptional effort is worth it for this exceptional coffee. This varietal boasts notes of deep dark chocolate, dried caramel, and lush fruit. Every cup feels like a treat.
I was excited for this to arrive. It was good. I had the problem of getting the right grind which made the coffee BITTER. (I almost cried). It is worth it though.
The coffee was nice and had very good flavor profiles. It was a bit on the acidic side for my taste though. I think these beans would be amazing if the roast was just ever so slightly darker. I know the trend is towards lighter roasts, but a slightly darker roast would make this coffee smoother and also would bring out the richness and chocolatey flavors more. That’s all just my opinion though, based on my own taste preferences.
I love the packaging and information brochure.
I also love the mission of the company and will continue to support it. I plan to sample some more beans.
